Here some infos regarding the scheme. Picked these up from a friend who applied there.
How to apply for the cadet scheme:
You can apply by going the Singapore Airlines career website:
http://singaporeair.recruitmax.com
Minimum age is 26. Please check up on this!
Flying experience is not a must.
This what they are looking for:

• Singapore Airlines
• Singapore Airlines Cargo
• SilkAir
APPLICATION
Please submit only ONE online application under either “Cadet Pilot (Kuala Lumpur)” or “Cadet Pilot (Penang)”. As interviews will be conducted in these two locations, please apply for the position nearest to you.
The interview 1 stage:
Invitations to interviews are normally sent out about 2 weeks before.
An interview can be a stressful affair but with a good preparation stress can be kept under control!
It's likely that you are inteviewed by two SIA employees, usually one from HR and one a line captain. Because as a cadet you have limited or no flying experience, they will most likely test you on your knowledge about the company. Questions range from fleet details to the basic principles of flight.Research as much as you can about the company, its operations and its airplanes (also technical details). Know why SIA joined the STAR alliance and that SIA bought stakes in Virgin Atlantic.
Do not fool interviewers. For instance if you tell them that you like warbirds, you better know something about it. It might be that the interviewer just happens to know as well something about warbirds and he might ask you about it. Be honest and admit if you don't know an answer to a question.
Many cadets answer to the question: Why do you want to become a pilot? ..with the answer: It was always my dream! Careful. There are better ways to impress the interviewer. It might be your dream, nothing wrong there, but tell them what you have done to make this dream true!
Interview questions:
Why do you want to be a pilot?
Questions on your educational background...
Differences between Boeing and Airbus airplanes
Types of engines SIA is using and their thrust
How do aircraft parts work/function
How is lift generated?
What kind of maps (prjections) do we (SIA) use when flying?
What is a microburst?
Which planes are using a sidestick and fly-by-wire technology?
An interview lasts typically about 30-45 minutes.
The interview 2 nd stage:
The second stage consist of various tests and you will stay in a hotel for appox. 4 days (candidates from outside SIN). Your documents will be checked and forms have to be filled in.
You will then have to do aptidude tests on a computer. No papers and pencils allowed. This test is about 2 hours long.
On the 2nd day
Group exercises.
Final interview. This is normally not a very long interview. There will be again technical questions adapted to your background. Personality questions will also be asked. You will not hear anymore questions about SIA itself.
Tea Party
Just be yourself. If you are not a weird guy and you can socialize, then this souldn't worry you too much. Avoid drinking alcohol at the interview.
Medical Check-Up
If you pass the 2nd interview, you will be invited for a medical check.
Outcome
It normally takes about two weeks until you know whether you are in.
If you fail the interview...
If you fail in the last stage of the interview, SIA might give you another go at a later stage. But this is not confirmed and it probably depends on the individual and the exact circumstances.
Please post anything which has changed or needs updating. Thanks!

Yes, you can still apply after LASIK, but SIA will look at your pre-LASIK results. If results are not satisfactory, it is unlikely that your application gets through. Good luck!
