According to the German Aerospace Center, the world's first 100% hydrogen fuel cell-powered aircraft -- the Antares DLR H2 -- flew recently near Berlin. Based on the Antares motor sailplane, which two years ago flew using lithium batteries, climbing to 3000 meters (9,842 ft), the H2 -- equipped with twin hydrogen fuel pods under its slender wings -- would be the first to lift off on its fuel cell alone. The Boeing Shadow Works airplane used a combination of batteries and fuel cell late last year to lift off.

I really want to fly one someday!
