Hi,

Hi,

I'm new here and I hope I can get some answers.

I have been fascinated by aviation and always wanted to become a Pilot. I'm from India and have been trying to gather information for a good flight school.

I previously checked various schools and had shortlisted flight schools in UK and Australia. I had checked out CTC Wings but I was wary of they accepting an Indian national.

I recently found out that, CTC Wings are coming to India. I have applied online in their website. Has anybody applied to them?

And their program looks really good. I checked out various flight schools in India and even cost wise CTC Wings program seems to be better. Flight Schools in India offer packages which does not include MEIR or a frozen ATPL. And CTC Wings aircraft are much better equipped than the Indian Counterparts. I would love to train in the Glass Cockpit and the price difference is not big.

Any feedback?

Thanks.

Hi there and welcome to our forums.

I must admit I do not know much about flight schools in India, but an a forum member from India once claimed that foreign flight schools are often better equipped and provide a better quality of training compared to their local counterparts. So, it looks this statement is in line with your observations. CTC is as far as I know a reliable training provider and if the costs are manageable, surely not a bad choice. Does anyone else have a better understanding on the situation (Indian flightschools vs foreign schools)?

Much cheaper and potentially better training if you join the Indian Air Force or Flying Armed services.

CTC is one of the most expensive schools on the planet. If you want to take on at least $150,000 debt to come out with just 250h and with no g-tee of a job and repayments of at least $1000 a month for many many years go ahead!

I would recommend Military route or take things a bit slower and start with a PPL and move on to a CPL/IR as and when finances permit.

There are many low houred pilots pout there with no flying job. Next they try to sell you an A320 or B737 rating, when you can't get a job they see if you will work for free and some schools even try to get you to pay to fly passengers which helps to ruin the industry and puts the least experienced pilots into teh cockpit - see Lion Air accident rate!

Better to take things slow and learn all the way to become the best pilot you can be. Enjoy your flying hours! If you are young 10 years is not a big deal but 10 years flying an autopilot might be!
